I took this shot in San diego last night. Was hoping to get a little warmth in the sky from the setting sun but I blew it. Blew out the highlights a little. Still very happy with the way it came out. Haven't had a chance to post process at all yet but wondering if I should go ahead and totally blow out the sky or try to bring it down a little? Sorry for the crappy quality but I sent this to my phone from my camera via wifi. So it's not the raw file.

I like it. But if you want a "better" sky, why not add it & see what you think them?

My eye keeps going to the bird at the far right. Maybe it's just me. ; )

I would consider to clone out the bird on right and what ever those things are in lower left of sky. I would consider to replace sky with a sunset, if pp skills are there..

If you don't want all that work, and the shot doesn't meant that much to you, return and shoot it correctly.

If your sky is bright meter for it and take a shot, and then for subject and take a shot and then merge.

Cute little guy lying front and center has my attention... until I read Photosguy's reply :) That bird on right should be easy to remove though. Sky doesn't bother me all that much in this shot. If it were mine I'd probably very quickly see what I could do with the raw file and highlights, maybe a graduated filter, but I personally wouldn't spend much more time on it than that.

Thanks for sharing!

Personally I wouldn't do a thing. If the bird bothers you that much clone him out. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a tighter crop on the little one lying down.

So here it is. I'm very happy with it. Cloned out the palm trees on the left, cropped a little off the right to get rid of the bird, and brought down the highlights to give the sky some color. Hope you like it.

I had taken the liberty of cropping your image a bit but didn't post it for fear of influencing yours and didn't have your permission. Mine resulted in a tighter crop. Want to see it? :)
