One from todays shoot. And once again I probably didn't do the craftsman shift justice, but I'm trying. Learning as I go... The owner seems very happy.

Coming from a country where wildlife is always under threat, I find this disturbing and sad. The lion must have been magnificent alive.

Were we live here, if they are not kept in check and balance of their population more drastic measures will be taken due to the livestock losses they take. They are high in numbers and the wildlife program here seems to be working very good keeping the numbers in control... These animals are absolutely amazing and I have the utmost respect for them and understand your feelings and I greatly respect that.

With that said our check and balance system here works, not perfect by any measure but the fish and game keeps close tabs on this and populations have maintained healthy numbers. They are treated like all other big game animals and the reality is it has to be done or conflicts happen that create worse problems.

I sometimes hesitate on these type of photo's but fact of the matter the system works here and it is no different from a elk or deer population as long as it is working the check and balance system keeps the population healthy. I am not aware of issues that go on where you are from and I'm most sorry that the wildlife is not protected and or monitored better to keep healthy populations where you live, that is sad indeed.

Very nice Stacy! Your photo shows off the quality of work done by the taxidermist. I have been asked by a friend who is a taxidermist to take photos of his work once his new studio is completed. I am looking forward to it. I hope I can capture his work as good as you did these.

Thank you so much. Well its obviously all in the lighting. And I'm glad a few have enjoyed these, I figured when I posted them their would be some negative feed back with the anti hunt them.
This was a little learning curve but anyone with a knowledge of lighting can do it relatively easy. My biggest goal was to give the animals the credit and the taxidermist with flattering poses. Thanks for the feed back and good luck on your shoots.

This is one I was having fun with, the taxidermist loved it and so did the client.

Stacy,
In this last one that you shared, do you remember what you focused on? The forelegs and paws appear to be sharp, with excellent, well-resolved hair detail. But the head and face seem to be soft, with the individual hairs kind of blending into one another. This is kind of the opposite of what people usually try to do, so I was just wondering if this was intentional or not.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I never understand why people have to make these types of comments? If you don't like/agree with a post or picture, just move along.

People often voice their reactions to a photo, and their reactions may include their thoughts and feelings about its subject. That isn't surprising, is it? You similarly posted a critical comment when you could have just moved along.

Tom, for what ever reason on this photo I couldn't get the original to load correctly due to a file size issue. After I did a web file size conversion it didn't seem to help the photo. The original seems much sharper than this copy, so I won't repeat this again.
