My 10D is out for repair and all I have left to take pictures with is my Canon Elan7 and Nikon Coopix 995 for my daughters first birthday.

Which should I pick as the primary camera?

Obviously the Canon is the better camera (I have a Sigma 28-7Omm and a Canon 75-300mm IS) but I have not had that much luck with film. I believe that has a lot to do with the post processing/developing. Pics look flat without much life.

The Coolpix (shooting in RAW), although inferior will allow me to do the post processing myself.

I can get the photos on CD when I develop the 35mm film but they will be inferior and smaller JPEGS.

Any ideas?

If they look flat with the EOS-camera, they will also loom flat with the coolpix. It wont make any differnt ich camera you shoot with. In the case where your picture looks flat, my guess is that its more the technique that matters when shooting.

Yes, you cn post-process easyer with the collpix, but you can do the same with a HQ scan and your picture editor software.

However, it may be better to shoot with the coolpix since you can see what you get instantly. The 995 isnt that bad, even for a Nikon ;-)a
