7DII and the new 100-400 certainly look like a great combination for airshows and aircraft photography. Nice pics!

Thanks, first time out with this combo, super impressed so far, far better than the old 7d and 100-400

We have nearly identical equipment. I have the MkI and the new 100-400. The reach is fantastic, but looking at your photos is causing some twitchiness in my wallet. Would be nice to have a MkII before airshow season starts! The 5DIII is nice with the new zoom, also, but the 1.6 factor makes the 7D a great tool. Again, beautiful pics.

I had that same dilemma part-ex'd my mk1 to get the mk2 the improvement in quality is well worth it. The image of the Osprey was taken from about 500m with some heavy cropping :-)
