It looks like for around the same price , I can get a used x100 or a new m2 with 22 pancake lens (plus 18-55, flash and ef adapter ). The eos kit would have to be an eBay purchase. The fuji, I've seen a few on Craigslist recently. Going to Disney World soon and want something for casual shooting. Looks like they're similar in size (with 22 on m2), both lenses look very good. Love the looks of the fuji, higher mp on the Canon and with the adapter, I can use my existing lenses.

Opinions on both/either are welcomed.

Cross posted in gear talk. Hoping to get some feedback here. I can delete the other post if needed.

As you said, you can get an adapter and use your existing lenses. That should be your #1 argue for the M2.

BUT, if you asked me... hands down the X100 series.

I tried both the x100 and original M. I assume that the AF for the M2 would be better.

These are what I found.

Focus speed = about the same.
Colour IQ = x100.
High ISO jpeg = x100
Lens = x100 (especially for street photography)
Ergonomics = x100
Battery life = about the same.

The only 2 things I find to be an advantage are the video capabilities on the M and the interchangeable lenses.

If you don't want to fuss with those, I'd highly recommend the x100.
