I was surprised to see so many stars with the light pollution from the city! Next time I want to shoot the back of the lighthouse so the ocean is behind it. I should be able to get a lot more stars.

Thanks for looking!

Love the shot , just hate the light pollution . But being a lighthouse it has good reasons .

Thanks Celestron! Next time there I will try to shoot towards east so the light pollution is behind me. Maybe I'll get more stars.

Nice shot! Wondering how you capture the rays. Does the light rotates around the light house?

Hello Chris,
On a crisp moonless night, you can easily see the Milky Way from there with the naked eye. Field 2 of Robert Moses is open to star gazers with permits as it is a very good location, one of the best on the Island. Nice images.

Thanks mindfiction! Yes, the light turns. With a 2 sec exposure I was able to get the light streak.
