Well I did some tests today with the 11-20mm, first thing I checked was decentering and it was dead on (side to side/ bottom to top).

Second was how bad the flare is, which isn't huge to me, it does flare but the good part is I had to really try, with my 7D mkII I could see it through the viewfinder and I can adjust (hood helped). It would be nice if it had better flare control but it was no big deal to me.

Sharpness is very good but not prime sharp or equal to my 24-70 mkII, but I didn't expected it to be, so far I'm very happy with what I'm seeing, need to use it more the next couple weeks.
I have to say I got this lens mainly for astrophotography on my 7D mkII, if it was not for that I would have just gotten an Canon 10-22mm.

Well, I decided to keep the 11-20mm. The only con with the lens is the flaring to me but not a big deal.

I just tripped over this lens while shopping around for a dinner-table lens for my 70D. I was reading reviews of the 11-16 and someone mentioned the Tokina 11-20. The 11-20 is a much more useful range for me. First stop: Adorama (THE GREATEST COMPANY IN THE UNIVERSE) to place an order. I should have it early next week. I'll be back with some shots soon. I can't believe only two of us own this lens!

Well, instead of new, I discovered the OP of this thread was selling his. I bought it today. Merry Christmas. My primary purpose is as a 'dinner-table' lens on my 70D. I will post some results when I get them. I primarily use a 6D/17-40 combination for this type of shooting, but find the DOF way too thin for my tastes. 15mm @ f/4 will give me much more DOF than 24mm @ f/4. F/2.8 is available if/when I need it. I seem to be a bit heavy with UWA zooms, now. I have 10-18 for video, mostly. It is very good in adequate light, but too slow for dinner table stuff at f/5.6. Plus the 17-40 on 6D, and now the 11-20 on apsc. I guess if I had to let one go it would be the 17-40, but then I'd feel compelled to by a 24mm of some flavor. It never ends.

I sold this lens when switching to FF. I just bought another copy to use on my new 80D. Samples and opinions pending.

Really? 1 page for a lens came out 2 years ago? I just got this lens today for my D7200. My initial impression at wide open is TACK SHARP...as my Sigma 18-35. That says A LOT here... Images get a bit soft shooting at near the lens MFD. The only issue I have with this lens is that it has the lens ID as my Sigma 18-35. So, the AF setting won't get applied on both of my Sigma and Tokina. Unfortunately, they don't use the same AF fine tune value... Sigma needs +12 and the Tokina could use +3 or zero...

Test shots...heheheh... just under 1ft shooting distance... wide open focused on the lens' focusing scale...

So, I have the honor to restart a 2 year-old thread??? :) :)

First time shooting with an ultra wide angle lens.... This Tokina is pretty good. CA is well controlled. Pretty tack sharp at wide open. The distortions are not that bad. I mean...I didn't feel like I was shooting that wide at all because the distortions are well controlled....
