So I have gotten out a couple times in the last week or so. I shot these photos Sunday AM a few miles from my house. The Cactus Wren appear to be a pair but I'm not sure.

My shots are PLAGUED by these blue skies. Darn it.

Not as sharp as I would like but I like the pair of them together.

Verdin ( I liked these with the yellow headed Verdin and the yellow flowers in the BG even though the sun was HARSH)

Thanks everyone.

The little verdin was all too kind to hop to the perch in front of the flowers for me. I couldn't pass that up.

Man, these guys live dangerously! Pricked feet and, of course, all that sunburn going on. Rough area!:-P Glad you got all these excellent shots of them before they keel over, Jeremy.

Thanks Rog, Steve and Bob.

Rog, it is pretty formidable out here but once you get used to it, there are few places like it.

Bob, You live in FL right. Thats about the only other place that is better for birds than Southern AZ. You should come visit though. Beautiful weather
for migration here.

Well done Jeremy! The Verdin images are excellent. I really like the look-back pose in #5.

I really miss seeing and hearing these birds, especially the Cactus Wren as I don't travel out to west Texas anymore.

Thanks Brad.
I think its time to take a trip to West Texas. I love the sound of the Cactus Wren.
Before I knew much about birds I thought they sounded very insect like. Ha.
