A printing company wants to produce a local calendar using my images, which will then be sold by them to local businesses for their (i.e. the individual businesses) advertising purposes. This is a small community.

I am at a loss as to what to charge them for using my images. Can you help with a reasonable per image usage fee or how to go about figuring that out?

Thank you!

The first question is how many copies will they be producing. Until you know that you can't really come up with a usage fee.

They are doing a run of 10,000 calendars initially.

Should have included that... sorry. Anyone have any ideas!

You can use GettyImages.com and their price calculator for RM images to get an estimate of pricing. You can also simply ask them for their budget per photo. Getty provides a cost of $560, but unless the image is irreplaceable-an offer of $200 is probably going to lead to a deal.
