This is just me, maybe these comments are useless - I think these road photos are one instance where being centered is actually best, and this seems to drift to the right a little bit. Also, kind of contrasty with the sun shining through the branches and leaving the dark shadows on the snow. Clouds would have helped for that, or early morning or late afternoon when the sun is at a low angle and less intense.

With the hectic pace of society, when I see an image like this, or if I am there personally, it bestows a sense of tranquility.

I find nothing wrong with this image, especially since its virgin snow (no tracks) sure a subject in an image like this is pretty classical, but that's what separates it from the classical shot.

Now the next to comment, could have the exact opposite opinion, but that's what's great about photography, its all very subjective.

If I was adventurous, I may make a virtual copy, and also create that classical image, by adding a cross country skier into the image. Just to see how I like it.

I've been back to this image a number of times. It may be my monitor or viewing conditions, but I can't help feeling that it would be better if it was a bit brighter. It could just be that I associate snow with brightness . . .

Cheers, Damien
