NAS Backup Software

I have a Netgear ReadyNAS, and have never been happy with the backup software provided with it (Memeo). It seems to get the job done, but it is just a bit clunky to set up and operate. There is something about a backup where it creates some crazy file names and structure that doesn't replicate the original file/folder structure that doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling you want for a backup.

I have been reading similar threads all mornings, and I am looking for recommendations for a different backup software package for my NAS.

I use and like Backer and AJC Sync.

There was also recently a post about freeware backup software at the ghacks blog.

That should give you plenty of options.

I'm on a Mac and use Chronosync.

Synchronization software isn't backup software. If you corrupt a source file (or it gets encrypted by ransomware) and it's mirrored you lose your "backup". Having said that having it match the directory structure you have means it's not just one huge monolithic file which is probably more vulnerable to errors than many small files - just because a small error could make the whole backup unusable, and I'd rather lose one file than all of them.

I've been looking for good backup software for a while, but I've never found one. Can anyone recommend backup software for windows that does incremental backups? Key requirement is reliability.
