Extension tube for G6

Does Canon or anyone else sell any extension tubes ofr the G6? I do have the lens adapter top connect both the wide angle and tele converter lense to the G6, but i was wondering if there was a way to hook up a filter w/ on of the accesory lenses.

Look on ebay there are dozens of close up lenses to chose from, that will fit your lens adapter.
You can't fit an extension tube as they are for slr cameras and fit between the body and the lens. to increase the extension, for close up work.

So you have the Canon lens adapter tube? You can certainly use 58mm filters with that alone, but I don't think any of the Canon conversion lenses have external threads, so in order to use a filter and a lens, you'd need to thread the filter to the adapter tube, and then the conversion lens to the filter. Because this pushes the lens further from the camera, you may encounter vignetting (or more vignetting). If you want to use a polarizer, be very careful, as they are not designed to hold weight across the rotating joint, and it's possible for your heavy lens to separate the filter halves and fall off.

Some non-Canon conversion lenses that work with the G do have external threads. The only downside is that you'd need a larger diameter filter to work with the lens, and a normal 58mm to work with just the adapter tube and no conversion lens.

Have you been to www.lensmateonline.com​? Very well reviewed here. I have one of their adapter tubes, and love it. If you already have one, not as useful, but they have some info on non-canon lenses.

Yea, that's what i meant dbump, about fitting a fliter onto one of the accesory lenses or vice versa. I won't try it if it will damage either the lense or filter, i know both are fragile. Thanks for clearing that up though!

The only danger that I know of is with polarizers. I've done it, I've just made sure I was always holding the lens with one hand while it was mounted.
