Caught this tough shot while out birding. Had a 500mm f4L lens with 1.4XTC attached to 1D MkIV, and this little one came out of the snow too close to focus. Slowly stepped back just enough to gain focus and only got off this one shot.

Mar 16, 2015 17:47 | #10 Thanks to everyone for all the kind comments. I was quite surprised how well it came out, as it was just a quick,"omg hold still while I try to get you in focus" type deal. He had a little blood from a recent meal on his neck. Hard to see here, but def can see full size.
