Sell? Don't think I've heard about that... Now buy, that I know of!

In 13 years of buying digital cameras and accessories, I have only sold one thing; my Canon 5D2. One of my coworkers said he though about "going full frame", and I had already bought a 6D, and checked the 5D2 used prices, and under-priced by about $200, and offered him to borrow it and see if he wanted it. I forewarned him about the banding noise, and told him to check to see if that was a problem for him. What he did was sell it to someone else for me (but he eventually bought it from that person himself, feeling guilty about the fact that the other guy couldn't really afford it, I think). The money I got for the 5D2 almost exactly covered the cost of a new Tamron 150-600 at the time, so I considered the Tamron to be free, knowing that it was uncharacteristic of me to sell something used. Of course, other people would think of selling the old camera as a given, and would never see the Tamron as "free". I guess it could more accurately be called an "indirect trade".

I still have the corpse of my 20D, which has a dead mirror that only works when the camera is facing down, and my EOS 50mm f/1.4, which burst into pieces after falling just about 18 inches onto packed soil. I lent my sister my XTi and 75-300/4.5-5.6 IS USM, as well as a non-IS kit 18-55mm several years ago, and she still has and uses them. So, only one piece of gear has completely left my collection.

Yeah; if you have both already, I'd keep the 50. Just some newer bells and whistles that give it a bit more longevity.
