Aloha, I actually own both of these lenses but I'm thinking of selling the 100L Macro and another lens to acquire the 11-24. How good is the 135L with extension tubes? For portrait work, I know it can't be touched and the bokeh is just insane. I like the IS with the 100L Macro and it's a great macro lens, but can the 135L perform decent enough with extension tubes?

Much as I love the 135mm L, if Macro were important to me I'd not part with the Macro lens.
Maybe consider the non L 100mm Macro to save some $?

I really don't use it that often and with people the 135L is king. I used to shoot a lot of weddings and mainly used it for the wedding ring detail shot. Good lens to have and it's a toss up which one is sharper but if the 135L can perform reasonably well with extension tubes, then it might be worth it to sell the 100L Macro. Has anyone tried the 135L with extension tubes?

I just googled "135L with tubes" and found a fair bit of info and examples.
A full set of Kenko tubes results in around .66x Magnification.

I have the 135L and a set of canon extension tubes. Honestly, it's not a great setup. You need too much extension to get decent magnification. A close up lens like the 500D works well on the 135mm. I actually use that on my Tamron 70-300mm VC and it really shines on that lens. I get 1:1 magnification and VC with good working distance :)
If your dead set on using tubes, I would use them on 50mm instead. People use a tube with the 135mm to get closer focusing, but for anything in the "macro" range, like half size or greater, tubes work much better on shorter focal length lenses (btw the opposite is true with close-up lenses which work better with longer focal length lenses)

if you actually would use the 100L to shoot macro, keep it, if not sell it

keep in mind you can add tubes to 100L as well to get even more magnification, i stack a 1.4x tc and 20mm tube to my 100L macro all the time

I think the tubes (I use 70$ Meiko set with wiring, works fine) + 135L produce a good enough "macro lens" if you only need this occasionally. Here is one test shot I made with hand-held camera and DIY macro flash modifier:

It is shot at f/16, so diffraction is fairly obvious, but otherwise I'd say "good enough" for occasional use.

With 135L + tubes you get a decent working distance, good enough for live creatures. Using 50mm + tubes gives you more magnification (but not sure if more resolution - you are just magnifying the diffraction effects), but much shorter working distance, probably too short for bugs.

This is how this hand-held macro system looks like:
