Does anyone know what bird this is?

I took this photo yesterday of a bird that I can't identify. It sort of looks like a pygmy nuthatch to me, but I am in Maryland and apparently that bird is mostly a west coast bird. It was a very plump bird, sitting in a tree by an open lake, though there is a small woods nearby. Any idea of what this one is?

It is indeed a Northern Mockingbird as Geoff said above. Nice shot.
