Hi folks,

My new to me 60D arrived today with a 18-135mm IS lens and 3rd party wireless remote. Is there some setting I need to change or configure in order for the wireless remote to work with the camera? I bought a new battery for it, tried the battery both directions in the remote and it doesn't seem to take a picture on the 60D.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...
Al

Thanks. I had read the top of the page and not the instructions further down. Sometimes I am totally amazed at my own stupidity!

Don't feel bad. These cameras today are pretty complex in what they can do. You might go to http://www.learn.usa.canon.com …cts/eos_60d/eos_60d.shtml (external link) which is a Canon source for some tutorials specific to the 60D. They can even be loaded onto a memeory card and played back from within the camera.

Interesting! I also have a 60D and recently bought a "Vello Plus" wireless remote. It works just fine without changing the drive setting or any other settings on the camera. And to my surprise it also has the bonus of working seamlessly with my G15 and SX50 cameras:-)

But if the remote hadn't worked I must admit that I would probably have taken quite a while to find that rather obscure setting required on p.126.
