Just got a 85 1.8 --- what filter do you all recommend for this lens? There is million out there

There is million out there -- thinking UV multi-coated, etc.This lens is very sharp, but being a fairly old design daiting to pre-digital days it does exhibit digital chromatic aberration (as opposed to optical chromatic aberration, from which it is largely free). You'll see this mostly at sharp tonal boundaries between areas of great tonal difference, such as tree branches against the sky. It may or may never be an issue with what you do.
