Halston,
Hope you don't mind but I have a few basic exposure questions.
I actually have done nearly 100 trackdays over the years so I am familiar with that aspect of what you are covering.
From a photography perspective, I shoot weddings and ice hockey so that is my background.
I looked at your flickr data and you certainly do use a large range of settings which was very interesting to look at.
If you don't mind, could you give a real basic of how your approach to camera setup and setting.
Do you approach it from a Shutter Priority perspective mindset? -i.e.:
- panning 1/20 - 1/30 lots of blur
- 1/100 - little less blur
- 1/640 - 1/1000 freeze action
Also noticed you use ISO 50 on the 5D3 - do you do this solely to get low SS for panning shots?
many thanks and really enjoyed the pictures
Paul
Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.
