I just completed the sale this morning for my 70-200. Was a little sad to see it go, but I am now readying to purchase the 135 and 50 : ) I don't think Canon has any rebates going now though, I am pondering waiting just a little until they reinstate them. Either way, looking forward to the new combo!

CPW says a permanent price drop (not just rebate) is coming tomorrow. Wait a few hours. :)

There's a used 135L on here right now. Go for it.

/\/\/\ This!

I also second Greentoe, although I would bid somewhere between $785 and $799 and wait a few days for the bid to get picked up. Use WELCOME20 to get a $20 rebate, the rebate gets to your PayPal in about six weeks.

Order placed! But I flip flopped a little. I bought the 135L of course, but instead of the Sigma 50 I changed it up and went with an 85 1.8 instead (essentially replacing a few of the key focal lengths I'm missing out on from the 70-200.). I previously had the 50/1.4 and actually liked it a lot on my Rebel T2i, so I think the 85 on my 5D3 is a no brainer for the price.

I still plan to add the Sigma 50 at some point, but already having (and loving) the 35 art I didn't think the 50 was that high of a priority being so close in focal length.
Can't wait till Tuesday delivery!

I agree the 85/135 L makes more sense with the 35 prime you already have. I have the 35 f/2 IS with those lenses and they make an outstanding combo.

Congrats and enjoy your new lenses. You're going to love 135L. I regret selling mine several years ago...

Looks like B&H reduced the 135L price from $1099 to $999 (permanently I think, as no special rebate/offer/refund is mentioned). I wonder whether an IS version is coming?

They also lowered the 16-35 f/4 IS and 24-70 II, so I don't think that it means a new 135 L is on the way.

Canon reduced US prices on numerous L series lenses, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a revised 135.

You will like 135L. It's a special lens. I have both 85 1.8 and 135 L. I use 135L more. Rarely use 85 1.8.

Sometimes I have the L symptom -- always believe L lenses renderings are better than non-L. Sharpness alone, some non-L may be on par or even better. But, still ... None of my L lenses disappointed me so far.

Yep. I think they're revamping the lenses in order - they did the 24/28/35s in f/2 IS form, and now the 50s are rumored to be coming at NAB (or not, but soon). That'd mean probably 85 and 100 in a pair (like the 24/28/35 all at once), then the 135s. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like so far. CR doesn't even have any chatter about a new 135 that I've seen.
