Purple line of death on downloaded camera raw

First time this has happened to me. This is a raw preview from my Lumix DMC-G6, and yes that purple line is there when I do the raw conversion or open/close photoshop again.

Luckily, I still have the shots on the memory card, and they do open fine directly on the card.

Hard drive going corrupt?

Write error when I downloaded my shots from today?

Not an answer, but I've never seen an arced line from a read/write error. Not saying it isn't a copy error, but...

Do they open from the card full-size without the line, or are you referring to reviewing the image on the camera? If the file had been corrupted, either during download or on the disk, you'd usually see everything from the point of corruption on as garbled.

I converted the raw straight off the card w/o problems. Think it was just a write error?

I've never experienced a write error before. Concerned this HD is in bad shape. I have some files on it that are not duplicated yet.

It's kind of odd for a write error; it's more like you'd see with a sensor-reading problem (the curve being due to lens correction being applied after the fact). But if you're unsure about the disk, I'd back everything up, try copying the file over again and see what it looks like.
