Tommy I'm afraid trying no. 1 with appropriate vigure may have broken it. I have therefore invoiced the repair charge to your new office. Writing the cheque will give you something to do other than looking over the balcony at those scantily clad ladies.

Ooops :o

Probably better to take your PC and video questions to fora where that's the main focus. There are a (numerically) lot of computer people here, but you'll probably still do better where the overall mindset is computer. I could suggest a couple if anyone wants (ones I also regularly participate in).

I agree Jon

Remember Al that attachment to non-attachment is still an attachment and you know you will find only suffering if you follow either route

You should check out the Photo section. Post there and they'll think you're Chuck Westfall

I'm selling one - I'll see if I can get a bike courier to deliver to Brum for you.

Spread your collection of lenses over the area beneath it in an orderly pattern and the one that's the wettest after a full cycle is directly under the leak.

(2) We're implementing an £80000 corporate database over the next 7 months but meanwhile need something cheap and online to manage several different types of contacts. What should we use?

Notepad. If that's not good enough, I recommend emacs or teco.

(3) My server has new IP addresses but my many client domains only point to eg NS1.buzzdns.com rather than an actual IP address, so how does the domain reg. company know which actual IP addresses my server is using and do I need to change the IP's anywhere?

Yes. At your server. You shouldn't have left the old ones behind. No matter how bad your ISP is, you owe them a certain loyalty, especially while they have backup tapes of your data.

Al, don't be shy of AVforums. Worst they'll do is eat you up and spit you out ;)

I think I'm sorted. I use the dishwasher around 3 times a week and have a very thick concrete floor at Condyk Lofts, so I figure the leak is no big deal. It just dries quite quickly and no harm done. I reframed the problem as no problem, which usually helps in so many areas of life. Hell, I could even put a dish underneath if I could be bothered!

I looked at emacs and decided hippies only territory ... sorry! The notepad idea is good tho' so I think we might just use a load of sticky labels for now. I reframed the challenge as an opportunity for some team nostalgia.

Nah, I have backups of everyone's stuff ... do I look like an idiot?* I decided to suck and see ... so far all is fine and it's a minor miracle.
