Light Tent

I recently bought a light tent and would like to do some product shots for some car parts that a friend of mine is selling. My first attempt at an isolation type shot came out of with a load of post processing. It can be seen here:

I was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction, or link to where I can find some good reading about isolation shots.
