Great concept.
A couple of suggestions.
- More depth of field. IMO the whole thing should be sharp.
- Needs to be lit differently. The light is too flat and better lighting will give it more pop.

Yes, agree with flowrider, also maybe you over-sharpened a bit in post? Looks like a bit of CA (halo effect) around the heart. Remember too that sharpening in PP will never make an OOF shot sharp. Believe me, I've tried !

I'm very much a newbie with studio lighting, but I'd say that primary lighting should be from the front, above and off to the side (that is, one key light in that orientation). But experiment from there.

I think it's a great idea, very good first attempt ! Keep working it !

I agree that it's lit too flat. I'd also suggest trying the shot with the nose completely in the frame. As it is, it has too much of a "gross anatomy" look to it.
