This is a pretty much mint example with a UF date code (1991) that seems to have been used very little. Glass is absolutely perfect,, no bubbles or ripples in the massive ground-glass elements ,,, zero haze,,, zero fungus. Lens coatings are perfect.. body is 99% perfect with just VERY minor wear.
There is almost zero internal dust (literally about 6 microscopic specs) and a couple of teeny little pieces of black flotsam inside the lens that could not possibly affect your images in any way. I just shot a clear sky at every aperture and one of the specs just starts to appear at about f16,,, If you're really anal and want a literally perfect lens,,,you could have the lens serviced and get the specs removed (International Camera in Chicago and many other shops will still service this lens), but there's really no point because you don't buy a lens like this to shoot it stopped-down that far (or at all).
A lot of folk who own this lens say they have a 'sharp' copy but that's mostly nonsense,, there are no floating or adjustable elements, so they are all pretty much exactly as sharp as each other, so in that respect I would put the sharpness of this copy up against any other example of the 50mm 1.0 in existence.
No shipping. I'll drive a reasonable distance in the Central Florida area and meet buyers only at a Bank of America during daylight hours. Comes with original hood (typical wear to the hood), caps and a Promaster UV filter.
Just throwing this out there in case there's a local cash buyer before I put this on eBay for $4000 ,, which I'll get. Might be interested in trading for mint, low-usage 1-DX, 5D mk III, Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 Sport or EF 100-400 mk II with cash either way where appropriate.
