First use of a "Better Beamer" with DIY Ground Pod - Canada Goose

I felt I needed a little help in the lighting department for my hobby birding photo trips, so got myself a Better Beam flash extender. Added to the DIY ground pod, it does make a noticeable improvement:

An advantage of being single - I can help myself to the kitchen equipment

Perhaps a spacer such as this plastic pipe set-up, straight of course, will get your viewfinder higher.

I had thought of raising the camera, but the idea was to shoot from a low down as possible (without getting the camera too dirty).

I did think about a "Gigtube" wireless remote viewfinder, but that has is drawbacks: lag, timeout, battery life, so am now thinking of a right angle view finder and have the flash on a magic arm which is in turn mounted to the ground pod.

simply WOW! and what a great idea?? but i use a joby slr zoom pod with a remote trigger,,,love that goose shot?
