I will probably be buying a Canon 24-70 F2.8 L ii in the next week or so and don't have a CPL to fit it!
I am familiar with the Hoya brand but I am interested to find out if there are others that I should be considering. Naturally with a lens like the 24-70 Mk2 I will want the best that I can afford so I am interested in opinions from users of the better quality CPL filters. Note I live in the UK so not all brands are freely available here.
Thanks in advance.

I've standardized on B+W Kaesemann MRC CPols for my gear.

I recently bought a B+W Kaesemann XS-Pro Nano MRC 82mm CPL from 2filter.com a few months ago.

I recommend the filter and the source. They matched the price of B&H. And unlike B&H, 2filter.com is an authorized dealer of Schneider Optics (B+W). Adorama is as well, but they didn't have that particular filter.

It's pricey.

Belated update!
Well I bought the 24-70 F2.8 V2, well impressed! I was pretty happy with my 24-105 but this lens just makes my poor attempts look significantly better, almost like I knew what I was doing!
Anyway thanks for your advice on CPL filters. I did a lot of reading around and the B+W Kaesemann CPLs invariably get good reviews. I also noticed very good comments regarding the Formatt Hitech Firecrest CPL filkters. I already have a few Formatt 100mm nd and grad filters and they are top notch so I decided to give their Firecrest CPL a go. Formatt is only a short drive from me so I decided to support a local industry.
I cannot say that my Firecrest CPL is any better or worse than the B+W one as I haven't compared them directly. However I can confidently state that it is by far the best CPL that I have yet used!
Now I need to save for some of their Reverse Graduated filters! If you ever shoot sunsets over a level horizon there is just no alternative.

B+H is selling that filter for $5 less than 2 filter and free shipping to Canada. 2 filter requests an email for international shipping.

Can someone confirm this is not a slim line and the Canon pinch cap will fit and hold on it?

Thanks in advance.

This one is stack-able:

I went round to the factory to get mine as it's not too far away. Mine works fine with my Canon pinch type lens cap.

I will suggest the Murami (Marumi?) Super-DHG. I don't know if it's the BEST, but it's reasonably priced and has been absolutely excellent for me in 72mm and 82mm.
