Starting a new thread for the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary:
Picked up the lens today, fading light relegated me to mounting it on the tripod and pointing it skyward.

This shot was out of the box and on the tripod. It was one of about a dozen clicks and was shot using live view auto focus. Unless I see something noticeably "off" with the results, I probably won't put much effort in MFA. I've not had to do it with any of my previous lenses and hoping for the same with this. Apr 01, 2015 21:42 | #7 Was able to grab a couple shots after work. Nothing special, but the poor lighting, cloud cover, slow shutter speeds and wide open settings were a decent test. Very minor adjustments made in post. Still no AF issues. Cropped approx 40% R6 | 15-85is | Rokinon 14 2.8 | 16-35is L | RF 24-105is L | 100-400 II L | Σ150-600 C | 1.4X III | 2X III | 430ex |

Today was a bit better, but I only had a few minutes to run out in the backyard and hope something interesting might show up. The bird on the fence is posted twice, the closer shot being a crop of the wider shot. The bird was probably 20-25 yards away. The Junco on the branch was much closer, within 10 yards. ![]() ![]() ![]() IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/rAsbEt ![]() ![]() ![]() IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/rCd8ih ![]() ![]() ![]()
