Yesterday I recieved my copy of this lens. I'm very happy with the sharpness, contrast and colour! I also think it looks very nice and I love the OS. I'm sad to report the AF on my copy isn't working properly. Centre-af doesn't lock and keeps hunting. Some of the periferal AF-points work (not all of them). Tomorrow I'm taking the lens back to see if I can change it for a working copy. All my other lenses focus well so I don't think it's my camera..

Here are a few test shots I took with the periferal AF-points.

Just a sparrow:

Sparrow feeding a chick:

A Turkisch dove:

I really hope I get a good working copy tomorrow!

Took my most crisp moon shots ever a few months ago when I adjusted my lens from -9 to -10.

Was shooting juvenile bald eagles yesterday and was surprised at the lack of details... shot a bunny later and noticed it was front-focusing (grass is a good indicator).

How surprised I was when I looked in the dock software and my focus was no longer -10 but -7 !!!

Anyways... hope to see those eagles again...

here are two shots regardless and a swallow even hitched a ride for a few moments

I just like the subject in the second one!

Howdy, even Ottawa appears to be more South than the most southern part of B.C. and I am rather south of Ottawa.
I'm in the London/Kitchener area.

My first outing with the sigma 150-600 (C):

I took my new lens to the supermarket and took some shots at the pond near the shopping centre. I really like the IQ I'm getting from this lens. I can't wait to take it out for some serious birding :)

I really like the shots I'm seeing in this thread! They made me decide to get this lens :)

why do some posts show the EXIF as Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM, while others show Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM? As in the post directly above? 1 photo has the sigma EXIF the other canon.

Thank you, btw filam, for showing an example with an entry level rebel camera and the sigma. Really highlights what the lens is capable of! I just have the T3 myself.

That is a bug in the software that the forum uses. It identifies the 150-600 as a 100-400 II, so you have to manually change the EXIF info.
