Cheers filam, it's the first I've seen in the wild for more than a fleeting second and yes it was great to see. There have been 2 seen for the past two evenings fairly close to me so I'll be off there tomorrow evening, hoping!

Yes you should get out there, see them whilst you have the chance, think they should be heading back soon.

Just got a 7D2 and my "initial-barely-formed-hardly-even-out-of-the-oven-still-cooling" very first impression is.... it plays nice with our lens

Of course obviously many 7D2 owners on this thread have proven again and again this is indeed true... :-D

Much looking forward to daylight testing tomorrow!

I'm looking to upgrade my 7d to a 7d2. Just have to situate a few bills first.

I have considered that, but my 7D is still getting the job done. I'll upgrade when the 7D3 comes out, whenever that is.

(Edit: oops, thought this was the 7D2 thread.... )

of you folks using the expanded center AF point - curious how many use the center "with 4 helper points" and who uses the center "with 8 helper points"?

This fellow turned off the 8 helper option but did not explain why. We all have our own preferred styles but for BIF shooters (for example) - better keeper rate with the 4-helpers or the 8-helpers?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuJmYKmV6f0 (external link)

For those not using the 8-helpers - why not?

Thanks ~
