OK so I was using Dynamic OS and due to the firmware fiasco - I have changed it from Dynamic to Standard - and I have to say, that was a huge improvement and I will just stay with Standard until a new FW comes out. It was quick to engage and yet didn't jump around like Dynamic does now, and it might even be an improvement over the previous Dynamic. I would like to hear from users who have switched to Standard and hear your view.

Totally agree - I'm also using Standard mode.

Moderate View Mode was my preferred OS setting as this showed a very still image in the view finder - Sadly not any more, no difference with OS on or OFF.

Dynamic View Mode the image jumps up after releasing the shutter.

My findings also, the OS on this lens is still not as good as my old 150-500 which I still have.

Let's hope so - I'm contemplating a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II at the moment!

I have that lens and I absolutely love it! I now use that on a 5D Mark IV now, both with and without a 1.4x teleconverter. I was hoping to add the Sigma 150-600 to use with my 7D Mark II. I predominately shoot airshows/aviation and there have been times where I wanted or needed a little extra reach so I thought the Sigma 150-600 on 7D Mark II would give me that at a fairly inexpensive price. I still could go the Sigma route given that using Standard vs. Dynamic OS seems to be working well and would indicate the latest firmware is perhaps only causing issues with the Dynamic OS. So, the Sigma could still be an option, but may have to look around a bit more and maybe give a look at the Tamron 150-600. Not in a huge hurry to make a purchase so Sigma could have all this fixed (hopefully) by the time I am ready to buy. Fingers crossed for a quick fix for those of you that do already have this lens though!

I would definitely hold off if I was in your position and see what happens.

Harry

Thanks Harry! I think that is exactly what I will do. Hopefully, you are able to figure something else out that works for you if you do end up returning it!

I still need to micro-adjust the AF but I did manage to get this. Hopefully, it will be sharper after the adjustment.

Thanks, Harry

I did the same after reading your post last night. I agree it's a positive move in the right direction. I would like to know what method you use to calibrate your lens if you don't mind.

Thanks,
Harry

I can't as yet see what all the fuss is about , I have posted a query thread on the largest u.k forum and its come back with negative results ... it does seem that if there is a problem its only affecting certain combinations of camera models/ lenses whether this is a compatibility issue or simply due to another problem with the lens itself is the question... I had a 150-600 sport for 3.5 years and never noticed any movement of the o.s when taking pics , now 3 months into ownership of a C this time on a Nikon mount and again no viewable movement in the v/finder ... but I have yet to do this latest update

changed systems to MFT olympus omd1-E.M1X , Olympus 100-400 zuiko .., xiaoyi 42.5mm f1.8 . four thirds mmm-2 ,, four thirds 11-22.. and pergear 60mm f2.8 macro

I think there's enough evidence in this thread that proves we've seen a change in the latest firmware.

Seems to be a canon related problem so far but until you upgrade yourself then you may not see a change.

Not everyone has a docking station to carry out the upgrade..

My lens worked perfectly prior to upgrading..

I have not taken the time to do the upgrade. Interesting to see all of the responses here and it honestly makes me a bit nervous to attach it to the hockey puck. Shooting with a 6d and an 80d.

If you're satisfied with the lens as is there's really no reason to update it. Had I known the changes to come with the update I wouldn't have done it. However, since i set to standard os it seems to work really good. I'm just waiting for the next sunny morning to give it a work out.

Thanks,
Harry

It would be interesting to do a quick poll for those who have upgraded, as to what body they are using, and whether that combination causes a impact or not.

I have a 7DII - impacted
