Martin,

I misunderstood the problem you were having with Dynamic OS after the upgrade. I thought you meant it was not stable during focusing. I rechecked mine and notice the focus point jumps on shutter release. Not 100% of the time and not always in the same direction. Reset to Standard after trying moderate and all is good. Sorry for maybe misleading you folks.

Been out again today and in poor light , pics to follow but I’ll re- iterate what I said the other day , the A/f appears to lock on slightly faster ,but I think what I was trying to put across is a vast improvement in definition , I’m also finding my actual locked on and loss levels are a lot lower since the upgrade ,I think the only discarded shots today are from the birds looking the wrong way ... a very high hit rate over the last two outings indeed .so far extremely pleased

Here's a couple from the other day, it was a clear beautiful morning. I have it set in standard OS and smooth focus, also found my copy really works well at 500mm. 600mm is rather soft but I don't have a good tripod to do any AF adjustments yet. I'm still trying to decide on which tripod and gimbal head I want.

Correct - In Dynamic Mode the Image does jump when the shutter button is released, did not happen prior to the update. It's also less stable in the viewfinder. I was using Moderate View mode as this gave me the best view in the viewfinder.

I'm finding Standard Mode spot on, makes me wonder did Sigma test the firmware under the other modes "You'd like to think so" - The answer I got back from Sigma was to use Standard mode and if I wasn't happy with that then send the lens in and they'll roll back the firmware! vmad

Can you try Moderate View Mode assigned to a C button?

According to Sigma's description for that view mode you should see an improvement - Mine behaves in a way that it looks like OS is switched off.

""This mode offers excellent compensation of camera shake and achieves very smooth transition of the image in the viewfinder. The composition of the image remains natural even when the angle of viewing keeps changing."

I agree I'm getting more keepers too!

My moderate view mode also acts as if it is switched off.

Me too, maybe an update will fix the issues we're seeing.

I gave brief mention previously that I found the previous Dynamic mode just a touch jumpy but I made myself get accustomed to it.
And we agree that with the new Dynamic it was "Whoa! Settle down! lol...

I've been trying to get out every day and capture some pictures. These may not be my sharpest photos, but I was looking to try something different from birds sitting on a branch.
