Taken in Alabama. Canada Geese are so dramatic and I absolutely love photographing them.

While I love my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 I've been thinking about adding a longer lens - sometimes you just need more reach for racing. After thinking long and hard about the options today I finally went and bought the Sigma 150-600 C.

Some friends were at the go-kart track so I went there to try the new lens out. Not bothered by the weight but man does it take some practice to hold fast moving objects in sight at 600mm! Light was fading fast but I was pleasantly surprised how well it managed. When it messed up it was almost always my fault.

All shots @ 600mm, edited but uncropped.

Thank you! So far I really like it, much more than the Tamron version I tried. I have a track race to shoot on Saturday so this lens (and I) will get a good workout :)

I wont bore you guys with a bunch of racing images but here's one shot from Saturday. Weather was warm and mostly overcast so heat from the track surface combined with lower light levels hurt the image quality somewhat at the longer end. Still, I'm happy with the results :) Couldn't have done this with the 70-200.
