This a different bird on the same branch as the the out of focus bird (Red-breasted Nuthatch), what did you do differently to get this bird in focus?

Yes, nearly the same spot, different day. Removing lens from the EF-R adapter and then removing the adapter itself from the camera then reattaching both solved the issues. It was definitely an issue with the adapter as I experienced the same issue with a different lens. Once I re-attached everything it was all good.

A bit of frost in the early morning sunlight. A smile on the last of a tough year for many. I'd say it wasn't a bad way to go out.

I've been using the 150-600C for about 5 years with my Canon 70D.

Initially it worked fine until I updated the firmware last year causing the jumping issue with dynamic focus (solved with using standard).

I connected it to the dock yesterday and updated the firmware to 2.03 but since doing so it seems like either the autofocus doesn't seem to be as accurate or the OS is having issues (photos aren't very sharp).

Has anyone else had this problem?

Dean,

I am very sorry to hear of your problems. No I have not had this problem but I have not connected my 150-600 to my dock since I bought it new. Your news makes me NOT wanting to connect mine to the dock at all now.

I do hope someone here can help you with your problem.

Welcome to POTN!

Was going to take mine down to the local for a "docking" but now thinking I won't either. Other people's experiences with this?

One of mine from a few days ago. Wasn't planning to capture birds in flight so was on AF One Shot (lens on OS1), so was a bit lucky. Cropped by about 50%.

Same session, but at a higher zoom - male Northern Pintail getting settled on the rock. 50%+ crop. (handheld)
