I have always used Canon DSLR cameras (plus a few others Olympus Pen, Lumix LX5) but now I am very tempted to sell my 1Ds Mk!! and buy a Fuji X100s
The 1Ds is just gathering dust as I use my 1DmkiV for my football shots and my 50D for the occasional wedding / party shots. Shame to have the 1Ds not used but will I regret the change ?

From what I read and see on here the results are amazing and hopefully it will stir my creative juices again. I'm guessing most people in this section will say yes but do I go x100S or X100T ???

Decisions Decisions :-)

I don't know about selling your 1DS, but the X100 is a great camera. Would you have to sell the 1DS to fund the purchase?

As for which one, if you don't have an X100 I would say definitely try and get the X100T. Between its improved button layout/menus, AF, speed and fantastic film simulation/JPEG creation, it has a lot to justify getting it over the X100S IMO. I don't think the X100S has wifi either but I may be mistaken.

Thanks GuitarDTO - not got to sell the 1Ds to fund as such but it seems a shame for it to be sitting in my old camera bag not being used. I use the 1dmkII regularly and the 50d occasionally but the 1Ds very rarely these days.
I guess if I sold the 1Ds it would help to fund a T over an S

I have to say I love the look of the S over the T but I appreciate the T is an improved camera. If I can sell the 1Ds it would me the decision to go T over S easier I guess.

You are correct there is no wifi on the S

Thanks again

Ahh gotcha, didn't realize you still had a few other bodies. Yeah, I'd definitely say do it. The wifi on the T has been a great feature and I'm glad I went T because of it.

It's going to come down to around a $450 difference between the two if you buy new today. There have been some almost new X100s cameras selling on this forum for $700 which would make the gap $600. Both have the same sensor. Are the new features worth the difference? How soon before the release of the next X100* and what new features sensor etc...?

I was in a similar thought process, except I have a 7D, and my kids have graduated and are working, so very little sports. My 7d has been sitting for a year untouched. I figured I would try a fuji, and bought a xe1 about 6 mths ago, and since have upgraded to a xe2, and have a used x100 in the mail coming to me. These fuji are fantastic, and I will be putting my 7d up for sale in probably a few minutes, just have been lazy and thought I would get around to using it, but am not.

I would suggest looking for a mint x100s, they go for around $700 ish. You will save around 500-600 on a new x100t. The T gives you wife, and a few minor upgrade which to me are not worth it. You could get a feel for fuji, and either keep the S, or sell it for basically what you bought it for to upgrade.
