Elinchrom ELC modelling light?

Does anyone know the color temp of the modelling light on the elc strobe? Is it daylight balanced to match the flash?

Just thinking about picking a set up and was reading about the delay feature. Sounds awesome but would suck if the first part of the exposure, lit with the modelling lamp, was a different temp to the main exposure!

Try this. Make a picture at the camera setting for the flash without triggering the flash. Lets say, 200/s at F8.0 and how much light do you see in your picture?

If you exposure for a longer time the posing light will come in play and that will be yellowish.

That's great to hear, thanks for the confirmation. A daylight balanced modelling light will also be useful for video too. Looks like I may have to order some soon!!

Mmmfotographie- since your reply I've been looking for something to confirm what you said about the modelling light being daylight balanced and I can't find anything. It seems hard to find info on modelling light colour temperatures but everything I've seen suggests they are tungsten.

In my last sentence I write about also collecting also the light of the modelling light. This light will be yellowish because it is rated tungsten.

In video tungsten is preferred to match other lights in a room and if needed daylight a colorcorrection sheet is used to make look blueish again to match daylight.
