As above - The viewfinder and shutter response is rather laggy when I use my Note 3 to remotely fire the camera. Have also tried DSLR controller and it gave similarly poor results - is there any suitable WiFi alternative for remotely firing the 6D?

thanks!

I don't know about firing my shutter with a phone. I use those for talking to people.

I use a Vello Freewave Plus to fire mine. Works just like the release on the camera; half press focus, full press fire.

Don't think I've noticed this and I use it quite often. Are you talking a fraction of a second or something more noticible ?

Firing from where? I use a wired remote if I am doing macro work, and a IR remote if I want to be in the photo. Drawback on the IR is: you have to be in front of the camera, and it is only good for about 25' from the camera.

There is no solution with minimal lag short of expensive and bulky drone control or wireless video camera monitor (for directors to see the footage in their chairs or DP's/AC's to see drone footage in the air) setups with six antennas. Just sayin. At least, not that I know of. Otherwise, the drone/video crew setups wouldn't need six antennas.

So your best bet for the least addon bulk is the Vello Freewave Plus, Shutterboss or other wireless actuation thingies. Otherwise, you can't have ideal (no latency) for free (no addon weight).

Does it have to be Wi-Fi? I use an Android App called "DSLR Remote" and there is no lag. It works just as well as any other Infrared remote I have used.

Should clarify that this applies to live video and preview. Triggering without the live video or live view might be more doable, if that's what you're looking for, OP.
