Hi Guys,

I am trying to find out if there is a way I can simultaneously use my elinchrom 600rx strobes while have the canon speed light 600rx on the hot shoe. I would like to try to do this at a future event where I can light the subjects face with the speed light and have the strobes work as kicker light? I do not have pocket wizards only the sky ports and the universal sky port as well if that helps. I have read that I can use the PC sync cable to trigger the strobes while the speed light is on hot shoe but would the range work if the event hall is quite large?

Thank you in advance.

Karim.

you could turn on the "magic eye" optical slave on the 600RX (i think they have it, pretty sure the purple unit in our studio is a 600RX - the button should look like a eye with a lightning bolt behind it)

then the elinchrom will fire every time it sees a flash from the speed light - although you will need to use the speed light in manual mode, or the ETTL pre flash will fire the 600RX - and it won't fire when the shutter is open.

I've never been happy with my Skyports from a range or consitancy standpoint. I'd buy a pair of YN603 triggers and use the PC sync port, that's what I do.

I'm accross the canal just south of Ballard, the town Seattle usurped in 1907.

I've been wondering if the new Yongnuo YNE3-RX can do the trick
