I am really interested in monitor/colour calibration.
I have spent many a happy hour tuning pictures on my lap top only to find the colours look off when viewed on another screen.

I don't want to hijaak this thread but, none the less, it may be a calibration difference that is causing the op problems.

Can anyone help me or point me to a thread covering colour calibration?

My thanks in advance.

Brought the skin tones toward red (in HSB reference, from H of around 30-35° back to about 18-20° - the shadow skin tones are at about 10° - more red than mid and highlight skin tones).

For me, CDS' version, absolutely, maybe with a little less saturation.

....

Just for reference here, I did not alter the saturation, touch levels or contrast or curves etc.
Because the post was about white balance and/or color calibration I made sure not to touch anything else. I only used the white balance tool.

I clicked in about 3 or 4 places before finding the actual neutral grey I needed.

That's why I like the White balance fine adjustment (Tune...) tool in DPP so much.

Not only for the color wheel, which offers a more direct control of color tone, but also for its tie with saturation.
Great for accurate skin tones.

Thanks all,

I doubt it's the calibration - the images look the same whether I view them on my monitor (was calibrated several months ago), my iPad, or my work computer (adjusting for it not being calibrated). I guess I was just leaning towards colder skin tones in my edits.

I usually have one hell of a problem whenever I take photos in the forest. In summer, the faces are green. In spring and fall, they are reddish and I overcorrect it the other way. This is just one of these....

As a side issue, what a nice picture.

Thank you for kind words.

Well, since it seems everyone prefers the photo with a bit more red tint, I ended up with this...

Think that's the final variant. For now anyway...
