I am in need of a tilt head for a Monopod. (Looking to stabilize a 5D MK III and a occasional long lens) I am some what confused in regards to the Sirui L-10 and how it performs. Some reviews seem to indicate that the L-10 is made for a Collar Mount on a lens.
Can some one that has experience with the L-10 comment on if the tilt head will allow a camera to tilt up and down when the camera is mounted on the quick release plate (lengthwise)?

There appears to be a Sirui L20-s which states that the head can be turned 90 degrees.

This model seems to have a head that can be mounted lengthwise to a camera body and allow the camera to tilt so the lens goes up and down, not left or right.

I have the L-10, and the QR plate can be removed and rotated 90 degrees to suit either application.
Mine is set to for and aft, to use with lens plates, or with the Wimberly Sidekick.

If I recall correctly, it came set up "athwartships" for use with a plate on the bottom of a camera body and I had to turn it myself to for and aft.

The "normal" use for a monopod head is to tilt the lens up and down,.. but heads like this can be used to tilt a body side to side. My set up would allow that now with a body plate.

The real difference between the L-10 and L-20 is the addition of the panning base on the L-20, a totally unnecessary feature on a monopod head, and the very reason RRS created it's monopod head to be tilt only, which is the head that the Sirui L-10 is copying.

Thanks for the data regarding removing and rotating the QR plate. That might seal the deal.

The L20s looks interesting and it appears from the specs they added the ability to rotate the QR plate, and a panning base. Thus far I have not been able to find one anywhere..
