The lens arrived from Lensrentals.com and I had about 2 hours before the small zoo near my house closed. So... I made it in time to walk around and take a few shots with the lens. I've owned the 100-400L MK1 and I can say the MKII is sharper, the IS does a great job and like the zoom ring much better than the push/pull design of the old lens. The zoom ring was pretty stiff but not bad. The lens focused very fast and just performed great. So.. if you are in the market... maybe rent one and see if you like it or not.

On to the shots... just some quick snaps.

Correct... the 5D3. I'm on the fence about making the purchase. Nothing to do with the lens... it's a great chunk of glass for sure. The struggle I have... will I use it often enough with my shooting style to justify the expense? I had the MKI and it just collected dust most of the time. Glad I rented it... will just have to give it some thought :)
