Galaxy S6 owners get in hurrrr

I friggin love the camera of this phone. The front facing in low light is just amazing. Real time HDR too!

I got mine on Friday too!

The camera is definitely fun and its pretty sharp too for a mobile phone. I'm going to have fun with the virtual shot mode, it's been fun to play around with.

I am very please with the camera on this phone. It is a fairly usable macro mode

I owned a s4, loved it. Saw that the s6 had a pro mode where I can control many things. Bought it in August and haven't looked back.

Was this shot SOOC? Just last night placed an order for an S6 Edge and was wondering if people just use it in jpeg mode or if they shoot in RAW and process or what they do... Currently using an Xperia Z3c and moving to the S6 Edge because I am going to new carrier and I remember being happy with my Galaxy S3 back when I had it... honestly would like an S7 but the $300 I save buying the S6 while people are dumping them to upgrade is just fine for me and then I can upgrade to an S7 a year or so down the line

Any thoughts? What Camera Apps are you guys using, stock or other and why?

Takes amazing shots right from camera. Here is an example. Not my best one but one I could find.

OK, got my phone last night and in the brief tests last night and this morning at sunrise you guys are right the camera is amazing.... blazing fast too! I mean it is shooting bursts of 8-9 shots in one shutter press... I have to relearn to not hold the volume key down at all!

Speed of AF and shooting is amazing compared to my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact... will have to wait and see how it handles low light though in comparison.

The only gripes I have for now are the fingerprint reader does not like my fingers... as it constantly fails, and the battery life is horrendous... then again my Xperia has a Stamina mode where I could get almost two full days of use by moderate use with a lot of screen time..... this phone so far for me just seems to lose charge by looking it's direction!

OH - still waiting to hear about what photo apps you guys use as apparently the stock Samsung Camera app on the T-Mobile variant does not allow for saving to RAW

Battery lasts about 8 to 10 hrs. Less if on bluetooth or you have the screen more than 50%. There is also a power saving mode that works very well. The life of the battery is actually good but it depends on how many Aps and other things are running on this mini computer.

Guess I am spoiled with Stamina mode on my old Xperia Z3c - I could run 2 days no charge on that sucker and it sipped juice. Oh well, the screen is so pretty on the S6 and the pictures are awesome so biting the bullet on that!

I use camera fv5 for raw. The stock camera is actually pretty good with pro mode but fv5 has iso up to 3200 and a few extra options. The HDR mode on the stock camera is very useful though. Stock camera can take raw in the marshmallow upgrade btw.

To save some battery switch location move to battery saving. Also set app optimisation for everything but messaging apps and widgets.

So I was weak willed T-Mobile had a buy one get one free promo... and on top of that Samsung is giving away a year free of Netflix, a Samsung Gear VR with 6 games for free with purchase of an S7... add that the S7 is waterproof and an improved camera on an already amazing one... and looks like I am moving to a different thread soon :P

S6 Active here. Pretty impressed for a phone.
