Man I love Amazon Prime...bought this at about noon on Thursday, paid $6.99 for overnight shipping, and it was delivered to my door about noon on Friday! From New Jersey to Montana in 24 hours!! Anyway, have had a couple quick outings to try it out and am overall pleased. The OS doesn't seem to work as well as some of my other stabilized lenses. Now that I typed that, I take it back somewhat. It actually seems to work fine in that I can get a decent number of acceptably sharp shots at 1/125 @ 600mm. However, looking through the viewfinder, I don't notice it that much. With my Tamron 70-200, the OS (VC) startsand the viewfinder just locks down. With the Sigma I don't notice that, but that might just be the difference between 200mm and 600mm. Anyway, here's a few shots from my first couple days.

I've just started to look at these lenses. So, why the "C" and not the "S?"

Nice shots - I too just got this lens and heck, I'm not even sure the OS even works on crop sensor bodies....

On this len's Thread in this forum, various owners have agreed about crappy OS - but - they purchased the Sigma Dock and you can adjust the OS to "Dynamic" and it apparently helps. I also read I think you can speed up AF...

I bought the Sigma Dock and its on its way. Say hello at the Sigma 150-600 (C) thread.

Cheers ~

Nice shots with your new lens, I especially like the last one, great colors! I'm up in the north eastern corner of Montana, in Sheridan County, where are you at? Congratulations on your new lens!

Really the only true advantage of the contemporary over the sport is the price. It also is a little smaller and lighter, but I don't care much about that.
