What are the best photo locations in and around Mumbai? I will spend the weekend there and I would like to take some cool photos!
Have you ever been there? What location was you favorite? Do you have any photos you can show us?

I was there for a month and really wish I could tell you which places to visit:( Unfortunately, we were there on a work related project and were not able to visit anything other than the Gateway to India and the district of Vashi(??spelling). The one thing I can tell you that which ever places you decide to visit, make sure they are very close to each other, traffic can, will be, is a nightmare. We were in Navi Mumbai and just getting to nearby shopping centers can be a challenge.

Mumbai is great everywhere. Just walk the streets. Most people don't mind having their pics taken. (There are exceptions, which should be heeded.) Kids especially love the camera. For something a bit offbeat, go to the fish market - in the center of the city. Tough lighting but very interesting.

I've been there a couple times, there are many interesting spots in Mumbai:
-Victoria Station (elaborate train station)
-Gateway of India (monument)
-Taj Hotel (adjacent to the Gateway of India)
-Elephanta Caves (on Elephanta Island in Mumbai harbour) 5th to 8th century sculptured caves

There are also a couple unique traditions to shoot:
-dabbawallas (lunch delivery system using bikes to deliver to office workers) see them around the train station in late morning
-dhobi ghat (open air hand laundry in Mumbai)

Google earth can give you many other possible spots.

Enjoy.

Thanks so much! I love the Elephanta Caves!!! I heard that you can't shoot the Gateway of India because the police gives you trouble? Is that true?

What? Not when I was there in 2009.
