That's not bad. Always thought that the XT-1 was a slouch compared to the 1DX/5D3, but perhaps it's not too bad compared to the 1DIII and older cameras. Wondering how it compares to different generations of phase detect on Canon. Does Fujifilm have a supertelephoto out yet though? I've shot little league before, always preferred a 400mm f/2.8 equivalent lens to avoid shooting behind a fence.

No supertele yet. I would love even 300/400mm f4 if no f2.8. The 100-400 coming out in a yr would be f5.6 on the long end. Camera seems to track better compared to some of the entry level canons. Only a month ago I was failing miserably with XT1 but now i feel lot more confident. Only main issue is that camera is too quick to grab focus on the bak ground. On my 5dmk3 there all these focussing parameters which let me define the stickiness with which camera stays on the subject if subject moves away from where the camera is focussing or somone cuts in between. Fuji has none of that and it suffers when say player slides on the base and camera right away focusses on the back fence which is 30 feet away. Hopefully in newer versions Fuji engineers tweak the AF algorithms or provide some configurable parameters for users to adjust.

That's disappointing. I guess every tool has its purpose. I used to get excited when they said that the X100S focused better than the X100. Then the X100T than the X100S. Then I caught on, and realized it was all worse than Canon. Hopefully, the XPRO2 has better AF, but at this point, I just expect incremental updates to AF. But then again, the XT1 graphite and firmware update to the original Xt1 added direct to dpad af point movement control, so there is hope that Fuji will smarten up their AF.

But my reference points are mainly shooting sports and birds with canon superteles and much more expensive camera bodies. I think folks like me using XT1 are a minority. The AF for sure can be improved and I think it will but for most applications XT1 is one nice little camera.

Hehe, I'm in the same boat as you. Supertele's and 7D/5D/1D series bodies. I might buy one some day or a D750 with primes for a lightweight kit. Just not sure yet how small vs. accurate/fast focusing I want to go yet. Really love the Fujifilm design and their prime lens lineup though. I just had a bum time trying to focus with a D700 and f/1.4 primes at the outer focus points in the dark, so that's why I moved to Canon.
