Wow...why is the price dropping so fast??? Or is there something I don't know about their latest price drops on a lot of things by Canon?

I guess it has something to do with the exchange rate between US$ and Yen

It's totally the exchange rate.

$1,300.00 for this camera is simply amazing!
Didn't it launch at $2k?
The drop to $1,650.00-ish is already a great deal.

I have been thinking about getting one too especially $400 cheaper than the US version. The real question is will I regret not having the US warranty?

Most likely everything will be ok. There's a very good chance you'll never need any warranty service and if you do, there's a reasonably good chance Canon USA will still repair the defect for free. However, there are no guarantees.

I doubt they are from Japan... I can't find anything cheaper than about 1450USD, New.
So there must be something else going on.. Not just the Yen Usd exchange rate..
or they must come directly from Canon or a distributor..
Not from any mainstream electronics store.

Eos M, 5DII, and some lenses.

That $4000 1DX is looking mighty attractive if this is true, but I guess Canon always has legal wiggle room to deny free service.

Any chance that they can be counterfeits? I read on NikonRumors that a few legitimate warnings came out for counterfeits of Nikon's D750, D610 and D600 and the like.

It would be way too much effort to make a counterfeit of 7D Mark II or any other DSLR.
BigValue Inc had sale of 5D MK III (I thing during 2014 BF season) and almost everyone was happy with that transaction.
But then again it's YMMV..

That is simply not true, as mentioned above. There are multiple reports of fake Nikons in the news this past week. Where there's a will there's a way.
