Help me decide --

Feedback please ---

I am looking to purchase 1 or 2 len's --- feedback is appreciated (yes I know, what is my shooting style? Well I like to take pictures so always looking to try new lines )

1. Canon 70-200 2.8 II
2. Tamron 15-30 F2.8 + Canon 200 2.8L
3. Canon 16-35 F/4 + Canon 200 2.8L

I can go with any of the combo above I do want to have something I can use to photograph my kids baseball and soccer (they are 9 + 11)

Non of the above.

On full frame you'll need more focal length than 200mm for outdoor sports. And you don't need f/2.8 for outdoor sports. 100-400L vI or 70-300L. At the wide end, you are on your own. I'd go with fast primes.

While I don't need more than 100mm for my desired photos, I have no kids, and I don't shoot sports.
Don't worry about the slower lens / high ISO; it should require little post processing with the 6D.
Go for the 100-400mm 'dust pump' I'm sure a quick search of posting a wanted ad will get you one.

As for an UWA the new 16-35 f4 is the only lens I am tempted into buying.
It's hard for me to justify its price as I would not sell my 24L II, it's great wide open.
My question is what will it do that your current UWA prime and your lens don't?
Aside from having to carry and swap both lenses.

I would purchase the 70-200mm f2.8 Mk ll and a 1.4 Mk lll teleconverter or the newer 100-400mm Mk ll lens. The 70-200mm gives you an option to shoot at f2.8 which the 100-400mm can't do, but the 100-400mm gives you more reach. With you already having a 24-70mm lens why purchase another wide lens unless the 24 is not wide enough. I currently use the 70-200mm with the 1.4X all the time and love it. You may be able to get this lens cheaper now that Canon just reduced it's street price.

Your signature line says you also have the 135L, as well as the 11-24L on order. If this is true, not sure why you'd also need a 16-35 or 15-30.

Keep in mind that the Tamron 15-30mm cannot be fitted with a filter. It has a protruding front element. Same with the Canon 11-14mm.

The 16-35/4L, on the other hand, uses 77mm filters, same as your 24-70/4L and either the 70-200/2.8 or the 100-400mm (either version).

Not sure why you want one of the wide angles, though...Those are more scenic/architecture lenses, rather than sports/portraits. But, hey, whatever floats your boat.

For field sports, I agree that the 70-200 likely won't be long enough on a full frame 6D.

So I'd get the 100-400L Mark II, if I were you. Or, if you prefer, the get the original 100-400L "push/pull" zoom (which people either love or hate). Those are being sold out at a discount to make way for the new model. The Sigma's 120-400 OS seems like a pretty good alternative (it's bigger though) at an even more attractive price.
