After seeing the prices of Flash brackets for SuperTele lenses I decided they were not for me!
I had a rummage around in my "Bits Box" and found a redundant Sirui lever clamp and thought that would fit the vertical arm of my Wimberley 2 nicely. The local hardware store sold me a length of allow strip (5 x 17mm is a good size) and a cheap flash mount: http://www.ebay.co.uk …ain_3&hash=item2c879de8b8 (external link)

Drawing and pics attached, it is fairly self expanatory, but if you have any queries let me know.

If you have a Gitzo tripod you can paint it in Grey, hammer finish, Hammerite paint and it will match pretty well.

Either a big lens or a small room! Nice DIY though!

Equipment list - According to the wife - "how many more lenses do you need? Yet another camera?" ???

Hallway with a Canon 800 F5.6 L IS.
It is a fairly wide hallway but the lens takes over a bit!

Is that a DIY 'Beamer' on your flash? Looks like corrugated plastic, signage material. Nice work!

It certainly is!
The plastic is from the Milk Carton dividers that the local Supermarket used to use, conveniently it comes in Black! The lens is an A4 reading magnifier cut to size. It doesn't work quite as well as a real better beamer but it is pretty good.
Attached is the drawing that I made it from - supplied by a (very helpful) fellow photographer.
