Thanks Ian! I was using a homemade hood fashioned out of a large trash bag hooked to the lens hood. You should have seen me trying to navigate around looking through my viewfinder at 300mm. I'm sure it would have been quite comical to a third party  :p

That shot is great in so many ways. Composition, technique and just the uniqueness of it.
Definitely should enter that in the Audubon competition.
