hi all,did a quick search on here for yongnuo flash, lots of reading but not exact to my issue,
i have a yongnuo yn 560 111. i just picked up a cheap set of newwer radio triggers, came with one transmitter and 2 receivers, they came with the worlds crappiest instructions,i put the transmitter on my 60d hotshoe and the receiver on the yongnuo and when i have the flash in manual and push the test button the flash fires, when i take a photo the transmitter light blinks but the flash doesn't fire,i tried slave mode and wireless mode and the flash won't fire when i push the test button,so manual and multi mode are the only ways i can get it to fire when test button pushed, but when i take a photo the flash won't fire,

the in cam menu won't allow any settings for external flash.the transmitter lite blinks so I'm sure its sending the signal,is there a specific mode i need to be in on the flash for external triggers to work?any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

The flash needs to be on Manual, not Slave. The slave is the radio receiver that it's attached to.

Make sure the transmitter and receiver are on the same channel.

Check to see if it's seated right in the hotshoe of the
Transmitter, if not then it might be defective.

Also the YN560 III is fully manual so you won't get control in cam or via a transmitter. You will always have to change the settings at the flash.

It you want wireless control you need a YN560 IV and its specific transmitter.

If you want in camera control you need to get a YN speedlight compatible with your camera. Its usually the ETTL model, manual flashes don't offer that.

I'm not familiar with those triggers (I think you meant Neewar triggers). Also, you didn't mention which model you bought, they appear to have at least a couple of different models available.

IMO you'd be better off with YN-622C triggers. With them you should be able to set power levels for your YN-560 from the in-camera menu, and if you were to splurge on a YN-622TX you could set everything from its menu. I use YN622C triggers in conjunction with a YN-565 and YN-568 and they work flawlessly.

thanx for all the replies, the triggers are this modelhttp://www.amazon.ca …oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 (external link)
i knew my flash would be manual, the triggers set off the flash with the test button but when i take a photo they don't fire the flash, the transmitter flashes and the receiver flashes but it won't fire the flash, weird thing when i put the flash with the receiver attached very close to my camera it will fire but if i move it away it won't flash,i tried new batteries and still has the issues, the test button works great and will actually work very far,it will actually trigger in another room but won't flash when i take a photo, did i get a faulty transmitter

I have never used those triggers but there is some kind of communication issues. Switch out the batters in the triggers to brand new alkaline batteries. If they are anything like yongnuo triggers they will not like rechargeable.

You may want to look into the yn-560tx. Simple triggers are fine but the 560-tx will give you the ability to remotly control the 560iii's power and zoom. So much nicer then having to go to the flashes every time you need to change the power, espically if you use an enclosed soft box like the westcott Apollo.

The 560 is a manual only flash with only the center "fire" pin. You can not control the power remotely with either of the yn-622 triggers (622c or 622-tx)

The yn-560tx has the ability to remotly control flash power and zoom on the 560iii and 560iv

The 560-tx will only fire flashes that have the receiver built in (560iii and 560iv) or flashes that have a yongnuo rf603, rf603ii, or rf602 receiver attached to them. A flash with an rf602/603/603ii attached will not have the remote power control option. So if you want to start mixing in non 560iii or 560iv flashes the 560-tx is not the best option.

At that point, if you can't get your neewer triggers working, just getting a set of two yongnuo 602's or 603's would be a good option. The 602/603 will work with the 560iii's built in receiver (so a trigger would not need to be attached to the 560iii) and will also fire any flash with a center pin. A set of 603ii's can be had for $30 or less.

Are you using Liveview? Many cameras will not fire the flash when using Liveview...

It has something to do with "silent mode" and Liveview. Canon flashes will work but it seems any third party flash or trigger will not work.
